π± WHY ARE SO MANY WEEDS SHOWING UP RIGHT NOW?
Hot temperatures, high humidity and scattered summer storms can create the perfect conditions for certain w**ds to take off.
You may be noticing more:
π± Nutsedge β Loves wet or poorly drained areas and can grow noticeably faster than the surrounding lawn.
π± Crabgrass & Foxtail β Warm-season grassy w**ds that become much more noticeable during the heat of summer.
π± Spurge & other summer w**ds β Often thrive in thin, stressed areas where desirable turf has struggled.
So why donβt we just spray everything immediately?
π‘οΈ Timing matters. When temperatures are in the mid-90s and lawns are already under heat stress, we have to be careful about when and what we apply. We look for better weather windows and use targeted treatments based on the w**d and lawn conditions.
As temperatures begin to moderate, weβll shift our attention toward late-summer and fall w**d control, while also helping thin and stressed lawns recover with aeration and overseeding.
The goal isnβt simply to kill w**ds β itβs to build a thicker, healthier lawn that gives w**ds less room to establish in the first place.
π Fall Aeration & Overseeding scheduling is now open!
