Strobel Design Build Home remodels, renovations, and restorations in Tampa Bay

Before reimagining an older home, spend time noticing what makes it feel like itself. An original doorway or a familiar built-in may matter as much to you as the room you want to change.

Share those details at the start of planning. They help frame a conversation about modern use that still respects the home's character.

Where does everyone gather while dinner is being made? That familiar moment can tell you more about a kitchen layout than a photograph of an empty room.

Notice where conversation overlaps with preparation, then describe it to your designer. Planning around the way you already use the room creates a specific starting point for discussing movement and storage.
