It’s through effective communication with our clients, subcontractors, and vendors that we ensure that every project is successful. Working this way leads to a high retention rate among our customers; some of whom have been with us for decades. We work closely with them to provide the best solutions fo our clients. While our company was built by specializing in pre engineered metal buildings, we’ve added numerous other services over the years. These services include architectural design services, design-build, construction management, facility maintenance, and our metal building division.

Sometimes, you realize it's time to build something new.
As pre-engineered metal building systems became a bigger part of what we do, and ultimately our specialty, we knew it was time to create something dedicated entirely to that work. So in 2022, we launched Metal Building Solutions of Florida, a separate company focused exclusively on the installation of pre-engineered metal building systems.

We're proud of how far it's come already and excited to continue the build.

Thomas Robert Burket has been leading PJC since 2017 and is proud to continue the company his great-grandfather started. John Burket led P.J. Callaghan Construction from 1976 to 2017. He built projects ranging from local fire stations to a top-secret building at Kennedy Space Center for the Hubbell Telescope, and he started our long-standing relationships with trucking terminals, beginning with Southeastern Freight. Those partnerships remain some of our biggest clients today. John proudly passed the company on to his son, Thomas Robert Burket, our current president.

Ned Burket led P.J. Callaghan Construction from 1963 to 1976 and was known for his creativity as much as his leadership, building everything from a baseball pitching machine to a secret staircase in the office. He also founded and operated the 49er Flea Market on 49th Street, where our offices were located for many years. When he retired, he proudly passed the company on to his son, John Burket.

Pete "PJ" Callaghan was a legend. The kind of man whose stories deserved to be remembered and whose name you’d be proud to carry. We’ve loved reading his journals, filled with stories of gold mines, the Great Depression, baseball, teamwork and even a rooster that broke his collarbone.
Starting work at 16 replacing railroad ties for $1.60 a day, PJ built a legacy of hard work and determination. We’re proud to continue the company he started.
