FREE live oak seedlings are available for pick up at the Land Trust office!

Dr. Owen Burney (New Mexico State University), Dr. Douglass Jacobs (Purdue University), and fellow researchers were back on island time last week, continuing important work at the Maritime Forest Restoration sites at Cannon’s Point Preserve. While on St. Simons, the team delivered nearly 100 live oak seedlings to our office—each one grown from acorns collected right here across the island.

Now, these young live oaks are back home, and we’re excited to share them with our community 🌱

Stop by the St. Simons Land Trust office during open hours this week and next to take home one (or several!) seedlings and help grow the future of our island’s forests.
