How are we halfway through the first month of the new year?? Everyone hit the ground running when we started back up on January 5th.

Before we took Christmas break off to celebrate and enjoy with family and friends, we completed our annual companywide safety trainings. What use to be a couple days has transformed into almost a week.

With employees all over the state, it’s always nice to gather everyone up in one spot to connect and talk about what we’ve done and where we are going as a company.

We participated in our third year of the Sublimity Light Parade earlier this month. The theme this year was “Toys, Trains, and Candy Canes” - HP Civil Inc. got 1st Place for Originality. Might have been first place for pounds of candy thrown out as well…

Our crew has been tracking the tides out in Astoria to get the necessary pile and cap repairs done on Old Youngs Bay Bridge. The recent King Tides gave us some great negative tides to work with.

With rain in the forecast, we had to switch gears and gather a crew to pour the Multnomah Falls East Viaduct concrete overlay this past Saturday. Huge shoutout to everyone that was willing and able to work!! Appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication to get the job done.

The Multnomah Falls East Viaduct concrete overlay was a total of 869 linear feet and 308 cubic yards of concrete.

✨Completed Project✨
Work is complete on the new Crystal Creek and Dry Creek Bridges on Miami Foley Road. The finished product looks great!!

Take a scroll through and you will see a flashback from late 2023 when a storm washed out the Crystal Creek culvert. Our crew and subs built an emergency temporary bridge to keep traffic flowing on Miami Foley Road until we could return to construct permanent bridges over both creeks.
…
These new bridges will help keep the road open to traffic during and after large storms, which is huge for the northern coast communities, while also improving passage for native migrating fish.

Big things happening in Eastern Oregon this week!! Yesterday our HP Civil crew and subcontractor set two of the five girders out on Thorn Hollow Road over the Umatilla River.

These girders are 192 feet, 9 inches long, and weigh 240,000 pounds each. It takes some exceptional teamwork to get these placed - everyone worked well together to get the job done.
