Tobey King Ferrando

April 26th, 1963 – August 26th, 2022

Tobey was born in San Francisco, California to Papa Tom and Loann Ferrando as the youngest of five brothers. The family moved to Salem, OR in 1968 and Tobey lived most of his life in the Salem area. He grew up playing all the big three sports in school, after school in city league sports, and many years playing softball with the dirty dozen.

Tobey started racing cars and demolition derbies with the family sporting the V-4 and #23 in his racing career which he was still doing at the time of his passing. Tobey was very competitive at everything he did. He enjoyed not only wrecking and racing cars, but bowling and pool were his other passions. Tobey was a plumber all of his life, which he excelled at.

Tobey had a lot of family and friends who loved him very much. If you knew Tobey then you would have known about his “Father Nelson” joke which he showed many people over the years. Tobey had four children, Dustin (wife Dasha), Cody (wife Sylvia), Tori, and Ryele and seven grandchildren.

Tobey was preceded in death by Papa Tom two years ago, brother Tyler one month and two days before his passing. Tobey is survived by his children, grandchildren, mother Loann, brothers Tim (wife Gina), Co (wife Priscilla), Tully (husband Steve), Terry (wife Tami), sister Traci, sister-in-law Renee, many nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews, and many brothers and sisters from other mothers as he would call them.

Tobey’s celebration of life will be October 22nd from 2-5pm at Dustin and Dasha’s house and from 6:30 on at the Hollywood Tavern where he played pool on the Stop League for the past seven years.

Rest in peace Tobey as you are going to be missed by many, many people.

For those of you who are asking about a Celebration of life for Tobey Ferrando, we will post when we know the details. For those of you who didn’t know, Tobey passed unexpectedly on 09/26/22 at age 59. It has been such a blow to our Rod’s Plumbing family and to Rod personally as he was his best friend of over 35 years. He was an amazing friend, a wonderful mentor and someone you could completely rely on if you needed help in business and as a friend. We are heartbroken and words cannot express how much we’ll miss him.

Today we honored Jason Sharp. It is never easy saying goodbye to a friend especially one as young and full of life as Jason. He was a great guy, always enjoyed our conversations whether they be about work or life in general and he will be missed dearly. Our love and prayers to his family and friends.

We are so proud of our military employee Eric Seleen for his active duty. We are also honored to have received a plaque and pin from the military for our role in helping him serve.
