Today, on National Elevator Mechanics Day, we want to recognize the people who truly built Delaware Elevator. 💙

As we celebrate 80 years in business this year, with our roots going back to the early 1930s, we’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how we got here. The answer is simple: our people. 🙌

Delaware Elevator started as a small family business, and while we’ve grown tremendously over the decades, one thing has never changed - we would not be where we are today without the technicians, helpers, adjusters, repair crews, and field teams who built this company’s reputation and continue carrying it forward every single day.

Through long nights, emergency calls, difficult jobs, changing technology, busy construction schedules, and everything in between, our field employees have helped Delaware Elevator grow generation after generation and continue building the future of this company for the next generation to come.

The elevators may carry people, but it’s our technicians who carry Delaware Elevator. 💯

To every past and present Delaware Elevator technician, thank you for the craftsmanship, loyalty, sacrifice, pride, and hard work you’ve poured into this company and this industry over the years. You are the heart of Delaware Elevator and always will be.

What a great evening celebrating 50 years of the Delmarva Community Managers Association! 🌊

We are especially proud to have our very own Stefanie Lundmark serving on the board and honored to be surrounded by so many incredible professionals who continue to make a positive impact across our community. From supporting local businesses to giving back through charitable efforts, it’s inspiring to be part of a group that truly cares about the place we all call home.

As DCMA celebrates 50 years, Delaware Elevator is proud to celebrate 80 years since officially being established - with roots that trace back to the early 1930s. For generations, we’ve been honored to serve this community, and we’re grateful to continue doing so alongside the outstanding members of DCMA. 🤝

Happy Mother’s Day to the original Delaware Elevator mom, Shirley Meeks. ❤️
This photo says it all - even later in life, Shirley could still throw out a high kick!

Long before women in the elevator industry were common, Shirley was helping keep Delaware Elevator moving forward. She was also one of the very first Rockettes and a pilot - how cool is that?

At Delaware Elevator, Shirley kept everyone straight with the perfect mix of toughness, class, humor, and heart. She helped shape the culture and family spirit that still exists today.

While Shirley is no longer with us, her legacy remains a huge part of Delaware Elevator and the family behind it.

Today, we also celebrate all of the incredible moms of Delaware Elevator, along with the women across the elevator industry who continue to show up, work hard, support their families, and help keep this industry moving every single day.

Big things are happening for the next generation of skilled trades! 💪

On Monday, May 4th, Joellyn and Georgeta represented Delaware Elevator at Worcester Technical High School’s “National Signing Day” Job Fair in Newark, Maryland.

This event celebrates graduating seniors as they commit to their next chapter, whether that means becoming employed, enlisted, or enrolled, and connects students with local businesses looking to hire qualified and credentialed graduates.

We were proud to be one of the many employers in attendance helping bring awareness to apprenticeship opportunities and careers in the skilled trades. Events like this are incredibly important as we continue building the future workforce and showing students that there are rewarding, long-term career paths outside of the traditional four-year route.
