We all design a home for a floor plan, but what makes a structure pleasing, excite, memorable, is curb appeal. Now make it fit a specific lot, likr a mountain side, save the trees, capture a view, face the winter sunlight for the driveway. Weather proctection, long life, think maintance free, extra parking, landscaping. Most salesman just want to sell logs, lumber, square footage contractors wana build job.
If you love your work, and have the means, experience,and desire to help the potential home owner with the design, budget, include the best construction science, technology's, keep labor costs down, awareness of all natural element's weather, location, costs such as ...speed of construction, excavations, septic, sewer, water, wells, utilities construction heavy equipment vehicles.
Picking a floor plan is a start...Dad said it best " there's alot more to building a home than walking on to a jobsite with a nail apron"
