Today is National Tradesman Day, a day set aside to recognize the electricians, linemen, technicians, and crews who build and maintain the infrastructure we all rely on.

At CVE, that recognition isn't a once-a-year thing, but today's a good excuse to say it out loud: thank you for the skill, the hours, and the standard you hold on every job. It's what A Tradition of Excellence has always been built on.

This week is National Construction Appreciation Week, a time to recognize the people who build and maintain the infrastructure we rely on every day. It felt like the right moment to look back at ours.

111 years ago, a lineman named H.F. Laub finished a transmission job in Cache Valley and decided to stay. On April 1, 1915, he opened Cache Valley Electric.

From a storefront on Main Street to a nationwide electrical and technology contractor, the work has changed. The commitment hasn't. Four generations of family leadership. One Tradition of Excellence.

We moved up to #12 on EC&M’s 2026 ranking of electrical contractors, up from #15 last year.

Behind that number are the people of CVE. In the field and in the office, your skill, teamwork, and dedication keep us moving forward.

Thank you for the work you do, the pride you bring, and the way you look out for one another. This milestone belongs to you.

A Tradition of Excellence, carried forward together.

This recognition reflects a history deeply rooted in Cache Valley.

The Laub family’s longstanding connection to Utah State University has grown alongside Cache Valley Electric’s roots in Logan. Both reflect a commitment to hard work, service, and investing in future generations.

We are grateful to see that legacy recognized in such a meaningful way.

Earlier this month, we gathered for our 23rd annual Employee Recognition Banquet to honor 106 team members representing 1,535 combined years of service.

In construction, that kind of commitment stands out. It reflects a culture where people can build lasting careers, not just move from project to project.

We are proud to celebrate the people who have helped build and grateful for the experience, leadership, and dedication they bring every day.

Progress is taking shape on our new warehouse in Salt Lake City with concrete pads being poured, tilt-up wall forms being set, and sacrificial pads now in place as the site prepares for the next major phase of construction.

Exciting to see this project rise from the ground up.

The Diamond Award from the Associated General Contractors of Utah recognizes more than an honor. It reflects the commitment of skilled professionals who delivered over 6 million man hours of excellence across 2025.

This recognition belongs to every team member who showed up, solved problems, and upheld the standard that has defined Cache Valley Electric since 1915. A Tradition of Excellence, built by our people.
