October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we wanted to take a moment to share something a little more personal. 🎀
Bexar Essentials Remodeling is a small, family-owned business, and if you’ve followed us for a while, you know that we share more than just kitchens, bathrooms and beautiful finished spaces. We share pieces of our lives, too.
We’re just regular people with families we love, celebrations, challenges, heartbreaks and all of the things life brings.
Breast cancer has touched our Bexar Essentials family personally in more ways than one. We know the joy of survival, but we also know that not every family gets that same outcome. So this month, we want to use our little corner of social media to simply spread awareness. 💗
For me personally, breast cancer was discovered during a routine mammogram. I felt fine and had no idea anything was wrong, but I was already Stage 2 with a very aggressive form of breast cancer.
That mammogram helped save my life.
Today, I have such a full life. I get to work alongside my husband, run the business we built together, spend time with our children and grandbabies, travel, laugh with friends, make plans for the future and enjoy all those ordinary little moments that mean so much more to me now.
And I know I might not be here for any of it if I had skipped that routine mammogram.
So this isn’t really a remodeling post today. It’s simply one human being reminding another:
Ladies, please don’t put off your mammogram. 🎀
