☀️ Good morning, San Antonio!

There's no question about it... Texas summers put our homes to the test.

With temperatures climbing into the triple digits, air conditioners are running longer, pool equipment is working overtime, and many families are charging EVs overnight. It's one of the busiest times of year for your home's electrical system.

Most of the time, everything works exactly as it should.

But if you start noticing:
• Lights dimming when the A/C kicks on
• Breakers that trip repeatedly
• Warm outlets or switches
• Flickering lights
• A burning smell near your electrical panel

Don't ignore it. These can be early warning signs that something deserves a closer look.

At Denali Electric, we believe it's always better to catch a small issue before it becomes a major repair.

What's one appliance in your house that feels like it never gets a break during a Texas summer?

For us, it's definitely the A/C. What about your home?

Stay cool, San Antonio!

One of our favorite parts of every EV charger installation is hearing what mattered most to our customers. Surprisingly, it usually isn't just the finished installation.

It's the communication.
It's the transparency.
It's knowing exactly what's happening every step of the way.

We believe great electrical work starts long before the first tool comes out of the truck.

Thank you, Ted, for trusting Denali Electric with your EV charger installation and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. It truly means a lot to our entire team.

💬 If you're thinking about buying an electric vehicle—or already own one—what's your biggest question about charging at home?

We're happy to answer your questions in the comments!

⚡ MYTH MONDAY

"If a breaker keeps tripping, you should just replace it with a bigger breaker."

❌ MYTH.

Your breaker isn't the problem—it's doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Think of it as your home's built-in safety device. When a breaker trips, it's protecting the wiring from carrying more electrical current than it's designed to handle.

Simply installing a larger breaker without making sure the wiring is sized for it can allow the wires to overheat, creating a serious fire hazard.

A breaker that trips repeatedly is your home's way of saying, "Something isn't right."

The answer isn't to silence the warning—it's to find the cause.

At Denali Electric, we believe in fixing the problem, not just the symptom. Sometimes it's an overloaded circuit. Other times it could be a faulty appliance, damaged wiring, or another issue that needs to be diagnosed.

That's why we always recommend finding the root cause before replacing any electrical components.

💬 Have you ever had a breaker that just wouldn't stop tripping? What ended up being the cause?

We'd love to hear your experience!

🌪️ Good morning, San Antonio.

What a week it's been.

Between the heavy rain, flash flooding, widespread power outages, and even a confirmed tornado moving through parts of the northwest side of our city, we hope everyone is safe and doing okay.

Our thoughts are with everyone who spent the week cleaning up debris, checking on loved ones, or helping neighbors recover from the storms.

One of the things that makes San Antonio so special is the way this community comes together when it's needed most. Whether it's lending a helping hand, checking on a neighbor, or simply offering words of encouragement, those small acts make a big difference.

If your home or business was affected by the storms and there's any way our team can help, please don't hesitate to reach out. Even if it's just answering a question or pointing you in the right direction, we're always happy to help our neighbors.

We're wishing everyone a safe week ahead, a smooth recovery for those who were affected, and hopefully some much calmer weather.

How did your neighborhood do during the storms? We'd love to hear how everyone is doing.

❤️ Stay safe, San Antonio.

🌧️⚡ Good morning, San Antonio!

It looks like Mother Nature isn't done with us just yet.

After a weekend of heavy rain, scattered power outages, and light flooding, we're still seeing more rain in the forecast this week.

If your home made it through the weekend without any issues, that's great! But with saturated ground and additional storms expected, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your electrical system.

Here are a few things worth checking after periods of heavy rain:

⚡ Outdoor outlets that suddenly stopped working
⚡ GFCI outlets that won't reset
⚡ Breakers that begin tripping unexpectedly
⚡ Flickering or dimming lights
⚡ Water around your electrical panel or meter (never touch it if it's wet)
⚡ Any burning smell, buzzing, or signs of moisture near electrical equipment

Many storm-related electrical problems don't show up immediately. Sometimes they appear after the rain has had time to work its way into outdoor equipment or underground connections.

As we head into another rainy week, stay safe, drive carefully, and if something electrical doesn't seem right, don't ignore it.

We're wishing everyone a safe and dry week ahead!

Question for our neighbors: Did your area lose power this weekend, or did you make it through without any outages? We'd love to hear how your neighborhood fared.
