B&T Glass and Mirror, Inc. is a family owned and operated company established in the early 1980's. B & T Glass and Mirror has been serving the glass needs of South Texas for over 30 years. We specialize in residential and commercial glass including custom mirrors, shower doors, commercial storefronts and almost any other project that calls for glass work. What is a Glazier?

A glazier is a tradesman responsible for cutting, installing, and removing glass (and materials used as substitutes for glass, such as some plastics).
They may have to consider the type and size of scaffolding they need to stand on to fit and install the glass. Glaziers may work with glass in various surfaces and settings, such as cutting and installing windows, doors, shower doors, skylights, storefronts, display cases, mirrors, facades, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops.

Job Overview:

-Load and arrange glass or mirrors onto work/delivery trucks, using suction cups to lift the glass.

-Cut, assemble, fit, or attach metal-framed glass enclosures for interior partitions, showers, bathtubs, display cases, skylights or other structures.

-Install building fixtures

-Set glass into door frames and sidelite frames for showers then attach doors/sidelites to tile walls.

-Install doors or windows. Grind or polish glass, smoothing edges when necessary.

-Smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools. Fasten glass panes into wood sashes or frames with clips, points, or moldings, adding weather seals or putty around pane edges to seal joints.
Install doors or windows. Apply the material to fill gaps in surfaces. Fabricate or install metal sashes or moldings for glass installation, using aluminum framing.

-Install metal structural components. Fabricate parts or components

-Pack spaces between moldings and glass with glazing compounds and trim excess material with glazing knives.

-The full scope of work is not limited to the listed above but rather a general idea of some of what this position calls for. B&T Glass and Mirror may include more task based on the needs of the business.
