Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Adult Community Education Apprentices ! 👏

PHCC-San Antonio’s 72-hour evening Apprentice Course, held at NEISD Adult Education, wrapped up with a strong group of participants completing the program.

Graduates earned their NCCER Core certificate, OSHA 10, and First Aid/CPR certifications, along with their Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Apprentice Card and fingerprinting approval. The course also included hands-on plumbing basics taught by a master plumber and soft skills support through NEISD Adult Community Education.

This program continues to build the next generation of skilled professionals in our industry.

Hands-on learning in action.

Pete from McNeel Plumbing spent time with students in the PHCC-San Antonio sponsored Comal ISD high school plumbing class, sharing real-world techniques and insights from the field. Experiences like this turn classroom learning into practical skill-building and help students see what a future in the trades can really look like.

Opportunities like these are made possible through the support of the PHCC-San Antonio apprenticeship and training pathway—helping grow confidence, competence, and the next generation of skilled professionals.

This Black History Month, PHCC-TX proudly recognizes Adrienne Bennett, the first Black woman to become a master plumber in the United States (1987).

Her trailblazing career broke barriers, opened doors, and continues to inspire future generations across the plumbing and construction industries. We honor her legacy, resilience, and lasting impact—not just this month, but always.

PHCC-TX has officially announced the Rick Shelton Legacy Scholarship for 2026! Each year, PHCC-TX awards scholarships to the hardworking dependents and apprentices who are a part of our association. Last year, we had the privilege of awarding 7 exceptional students to support their academic journeys. This year, the Scholarship Committee in conjunction with the Apprenticeship Committee will be offering 8 scholarships to college or building trade schools and 4 scholarships for PHCC Apprentice Schools (1 scholarship will be awarded for each school in San Antonio, Dallas-CEF, El Paso, and online)!
