Miralinda Project

The concept and goal of this project was to create a seamless, modern aesthetic. We grain matched the doors and drawer fronts, incorporated ample drawer storage, and carefully listened to our clients’ needs and vision throughout the process.

A successful project and one that will provide an incredible space for our clients to enjoy for years to come.

Snapping in some crown with Lamello Tensos on this 6” flat crown. You can see I was able to bend the piece into place and that’s because I made a series of kerf cuts on the backside. Gives it some playability and ensures the joints on both ends are nice and tight.

A lot of grain matching going on in the shop. Can’t say I enjoy every aspect of it, but in the end it is satisfying. This is part of a master bathroom we are working on with Shinnoki Desert Oak. These prefinished panels are imported from Belgium with a durable UV coating. A lot to see going forward as we are getting closer to delivering this job and beginning installation for the whole house. customhomebuilder kitchendesigns kitchenideas interiordesign

The knife across the grain and then sliding in the panel to sit tight, plumb, level and hit your reveals is quite satisfying. I do a lot of scribing on every job and I honestly really enjoy it. Put your best out there and appreciate the process.

Shop is all cleaned & organized! My wife and I are expecting our first child here in the next few days so we are taking the rest of the year off 🫡. We are excited for this new chapter and also grateful for everything this year has brought us.
Happy Holidays to everyone and we’ll be back at it soon!

Boring some StyleLite TruMatte doors today on the minipress. I have my press setup with the stops at 10” on both sides and make up spacer blocks for the distance to be bored at. I keep a few of the most commonly used sizes all the time at the press. I can make up a specific size easily and use it just for that job if needed. After that I drill holes for the press in door bumpers and they are processed and ready for install.

Tight joints on a rollout shelf like this start with the right tools — a plywood prep router bit is one we reach for when putting on nosings. It hollows out the core of sheet goods, leaving only the edges to contact the joining piece, which creates an almost invisible glue line.

It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference. We take steps like this every day to deliver cleaner results, stronger builds, and a better finished product for our clients.
