For all of my friends and former employees who had the opportunity to know and interact with Brad; there will be a celebration of his life and the impact he had on all of us on Friday, May 17th.
I’m back east and family obligations prevent me from attending but please don’t let that stop you - Bradical was universally loved and drew from a wide range of people. You’ll most certainly meet a bunch of other like minded and incredible people so get your butts down to the reservoir and see some of your former fellow workers and friends as well as make new ones and celebrate the energy that was the Bradical.
More than a week after he’s gone and I still feel the same level of loss. He had that effect on many of us. I’ll be there in spirit and would love if someone could do a live video feed for some of it.
I love and miss all of you. I hope this celebration will help foster some closure of his death for many of us and also remind us of his way of being that attracted so many people to him.
If you are not able to make the event, I know that Sergio Martinez has expressed interest in a paddle out so touch base and reconnect with him for details.
Hugs to all of you. Life is short and can end literally in a second, as this has shown us. Let’s be good to each other.

Very sad news this morning about one of our favorite former employees. Many of our former clients had a great relationship and camaraderie with the amazingly one of a kind Bradly Butler. Brad was an extraordinarily good guy who never failed to make people feel better just by being around him.
Brad worked for us for several years at Pink Flamingo and was a great addition to our company in addition to being my friend. He will be truly missed.
Heart felt condolences to his family and friends. That guy was always happiest swinging from a tree or out on the water fishing. He brought an amazing passion to everything he did and never failed to put a smile on our faces.
RIP Brad. I’m proud to have had you as a friend and will always remember your laughter and passion for life. — with Eric Zangroniz and Bradly Butler.

A year ago tonight at almost exactly this time our co-worker and my friend Eric Zangroniz was critically injured in a hit and run motorcycle accident. He barely survived. Today he continues on his path of recovery and has made amazing strides. The man who wasn't supposed to live, walk, talk, remember or be anything does and is. He has fought bravely and stubbornly towards one goal - independence. He is making that happen for himself and we are all very proud of him.

I want to give a public thank you to some of the people from work who really stepped in to help me help Eric even though they did not know him that well. These incredible people truly stepped up their game in life and worked harder with more focus and intent so that I could have the freedom to help Eric as I was able to do. None of it would have been possible had the staff of Pink Flamingo Landscaping not made it ok for me to not be there at work with them in the trenches for many, many days. Eric Zangroniz and I both owe these people a huge thank you for the support they gave both of us during that initial 5 months of the journey in Eric's recovery. Thank you, thank you and thank you again to Retta, Thebomb Ross, Brad Butler, Deecareful Pornh and Justin Peaverley from Pink Flamingo for really helping me out with Eric by covering for me.

There were amazing nurses who looked the other way for us when we needed to be outside of the box once in a while - Julie Christine and all of her amazing co-workers made it much easier with their guidance, coaching and tolerance. My friends who stepped up to support me when I was feeling down and less than hopeful truly made me feel loved and supported, even with just a phone call once in a while. Heartfelt appreciation to those who talked late in to the night on the phone with me - John, Rob, Marc, Robert and Ed, Christine, Sanna and Eric's sister Ana. A big thank you to the Traumatic Brain Injury support group at UCSD as well as Southern Caregivers of San Diego Association who really gave me great advice as I needed it to make each 'next step' with Z.

A special appreciation for my classmates at Landmark San Diego and some incredible instructors Jen Flynn, Lauren Robertson and Lane Entrekin. All of you helped me with coaching and support to create the possibility of Eric's recovery in my own heart and mind. Without the amazing work that you all do at Landmark, I would not have known how to create possibilities for Eric or myself.

Eric continues to recover and create new beginnings on an almost daily basis because of the support he has been given by all of us, directly or indirectly. He truly appreciates the love and we are all, each and every one of us, the better in our lives for having taken the opportunity to reach out and support someone in need. He and we are all worth it.

Thank you to all the caregivers in the world.
