Soil temperature has one of the biggest impacts on lawns and their health and appearance. You’ll start seeing subtle heat stress signs in late May/early June here in SD and by mid August lawns are under immense stress. Around Sept 20 the soil temperature played eases up to a forgiving 9 month period. Your lawn is giving you a roadmap to its problems right now. Are you listening and seeing what’s wrong instead of saying well it does that every year. Lawns should be relatively green and full all year here.

Some things about irrigation valves. Your controller(irrigation timer) send an electrical signal to the solenoid on top of the valve to open and close and allow watering to occur due to water pressure. The water has to drain somewhere. Usually it’s the lowest head in the system. Sometimes it’s the valves. We can manually turn your irrigation on and testing it by using the valves. Valves should be covered and not allowed to bake in sun.

đź’¦ Even distribution of water across the entire lawn surface. Misses in irrigation show up as brown/dead spots

99 out of 100 times we know what’s wrong. Sometimes a Client says I don’t think so. Instead of back and forth we show up inspect things and then tell the Client it’s what we told you from the start. Not sure why everyone thinks their irrigation is good. Defensive almost about it. However, the soil never lies. If it’s dry it’s dry.
