C&L Concrete Inc. was awarded a project in Del Mar.
The project involved pouring an overhead metal deck with about 23 concrete steps with a 4000 PSI light weight concrete mix design over a 16 gauge wire mesh for a future concrete patio deck over looking the ocean. The project also includes us shoring the under side of the metal deck to support the Concrete metal deck while the concrete cures. C&L Concrete Inc. was awarded a small pour in place Concrete walls foundation for an outdoor shower in Del Mar. We proceed too probe the soil and as it turns out the soil was not compacted properly. The probe stick sank to a 32" depth. The soils engineer had us over excavate about 6' down and 24" outside the foundation envelope until we find stable native soil and recompact it too 95% compaction with fill dirt or SE30 sand.

Very proud too see Max (My Viejo) graduate from High school. He has become a fine young man. He's worked with me since he was a kid. He is currently helping me out and working for me. I'm very happy too be able to teach him a strong work ethic and show him all the different working skills that Jehovah has allowed me to learn and acquire throughout the years. I'm looking forward too him running C&L Concrete Inc. in the near future

With El Nino fast approaching C&L Concrete Inc was asked to assist in the repair of a faulty drainage system. The previous contractor used 3" perforated flexible drain pipe and forgot to put a cloth sock over it, he also skipped the minor details of digging a trench, using Mira cloth over trench and back filling the French drain pipe with 3/4" gravel to allow for proper water dispersing / drainage. Wrong choice of drain pipe, poor installation, prior rain storms and dirt contributed to the drain plugging up and eventually failing. The home owner was force to hold back rain water from entering the house with sand bags. The home owner was so excited about the project they willingly assisted us with the project. C&L CONCRETE INC trenched & installed About 60LF of new 4" Schl 35 solid drain pipe with a 2% per inch fall. A couple of 4" surface drains were also installed after which the drain trench was properly back filled and compacted. C&L Concrete Inc was asked to demo a brick veneer in an existing house. The brick work was done in the early 80's and had weathered several earth quakes but had sustained significant damage. There were several large gaped cracks in the brick that jeopardize the integrity of the brick veneer work. The demo had to be done very ginggerly. The house interior drywall had a plaster finish and several stenciled art work that was drawned permanently on some of the interior walls.
C&L Concrete Inc stepped to the challenge. The crew first saw cut through every 3rd grout joint with a grinder and then proceeded to demo the brick veneer.

C&L CONCRETE INC was asked to help out in a small residential remodel in La Jolla Ca. The foundation work consisted of building about 30 LF of 8"W raised foundation concrete walls with a 30" max height. We proceeded to trench footings, form set wood panels, tie re enfocing steel, scheduled out city inspection. We poured out walls and successfully complete the project as per plans.

C&L Concrete Inc was awarded a structural concrete walls and garage foundation remodel project in La Jolla Ca. We proceeded to trench about 90LF of 30"W x 15 "D footings, after installing Ftg and wall steel the footings were poured. Plywood was layed out for snap ties holes drilling, forms were oiled, panels were formed set and about 90LF of 8"W concrete walls with a 48" max height were poured. The garage slab was graded with 4" of SE30 fill sand, a 10 mil v***r barrier was installed @ mid sand, a #4 steel mat @18"O.C.E.W @ mid concrete was installed and a 6" thick concrete salb with a 3000PSI concrete mix design was poured.

C&L Concrete Inc was asked to stabilize a failing two story wood deck on a hill side over looking the ocean in La Jolla Ca. Excessive rain had eroded three of the supporting concrete piers jeopardizing the structural integrity of the whole wood deck, it was in danger of colapseing and landing on houses down below. We started by digging 3 / 24"sq x 36"D temporary pier footings and installed CB 44 brackets to level of wood deck., after that we proceeded to dig an additional 5 / 30" Diameter Caissons with an 18' to 25' depth. We installed 5 steel cages with 8/ #5 steel bars and #4 cismic ties @ 16" O.C. We formed set with sono tube, installed CB 44 brackets, pumped and poured 40 yards of 3000PSI concrete and consolidated it with a concrete vi****or. C&L Concrete Inc was invited to help out with the installation of about 300 LF of 8"W x 42" max height solid grouted raised CMU planter walls in La Jolla Ca. We proceeded to excavate footings, form set, install re enfocing steel, poured footings and layed block. Vulkem latex emulsion water proofing was applied to all inside planters. We installed irrigation, electric and water lines in all walls. About 300 LF of 4" perforated drain was installed in walls and back filled with 3/4" gravel. An additional 300LF of 4" schl 35 solid drain pipe was also installed along with about 16 surface drains and tied in all rain gutter spouts to the new surface drain system. Pour in place concrete walls.
C&L Concrete Inc was awarded a pour in a place concrete walls project in La Jolla Ca. We formed set about 30 LF of 8"W x 13' max height concrete walls. In addition to that we installed about 60LF of 8"W meander CMU retaining walls with a 13' max height tapering to a 48" height. We proceeded to waterproof and back filled and compact between walls and out side CMU walls. About 80LF of concrete base steps were formed set, #4 dowels were installed with Set XP epoxy @ all steps and were successfully poured. C&L Concrete Inc was invited to a much needed hardscape upgrade to o a back yard in the Del Sur area. Trenches were dug and water, electric and a gas line were installed. An 18" High CMU seat wall and fire pit were also built and veneered with Milano sinthetic stone. 170 LF of 4" solid surface drain was installed and rain gutter were tied to it as well. CB 44 brackets were installed for a future trellis.
160 LF of 14"W bands were form set @ control joints, the outside perimeter and were hand tooled and cut up @ about 24" long, this was poured and stamped in a separate concrete pour to give it a natural stone/ Marbel look. The main field was hand tooled @ a 48"sq diamond grid joint pattern which was also hand tooled and finaly stamped with a Roman slate stamped pattern.

Meander CMU retaining wall.
C&L Concrete Inc was asked to help out with a water seepage problem. The weight of the wet soil soaked by rain water exserted pressure on this old retaining CMU wall and the lack of water proofing and surface drains behind it caused it to fail. After demoing the old wall, we hand dug a new 30"W Ftg x 15" D, set #4 reinforcing steel @16" O.C. and layed block for a new 70 LF meander CMU retaining wall with a 48" max height.We proceeded to apply Vulkem latex emulsion water proofing behind it. 80 LF of 4" perforated drain was installed and back filled with 3/4" gravel. About 120 LF of 4" solid drain pipe was installed and 4 suface drains were also installed behind wall to allow for proper water drainage. The back filling, compacting, fine grading and plastering of the wall was also performed by C&L CONCRETE INC. Please check out our website should you need our sevices.
