"On December 5, a team at LLNL’s National Ignition Facility (NIF) conducted the first controlled fusion experiment in history to reach this milestone, also known as scientific energy breakeven, meaning it produced more energy from fusion than the laser energy used to drive it. This historic, first-of-its kind achievement will provide unprecedented capability to support NNSA’s Stockpile Stewardship Program and will provide invaluable insights into the prospects of clean fusion energy, which would be a game-changer for efforts to achieve President Biden’s goal of a net-zero carbon economy."

Remember when climate change/global warming was not a political issue and just an issue? It doesn't mattter what political party we belong to. When we disagree with the proven conclusions of the scientific global community, we are entitled to our personal opinion, but we are wrong. The window for any type of decent quality of life on Earth for young people and their children is closing quickly due to corporate greed and their paid politicians, who have been funded to feed lies to their constituents in order to maintain high profit margins at the expense of our children. We have known how the problem occurred and what solutions could be as Carl Sagan explained to Congree, nearly 40 years ago in 1985.

Over the years, we have seen millions of examples how closely related animals are to humans with emotions and actions. The only large separation between us and animals is the massive impact our particular species has on the natural environment of our planet. With this power comes great responsibility to protect and conserve the natural environment for all living things.

In order for us to understand and be able to have knowledgable dialogues concerning the current situation regarding our world's changing climate and the effects which humans have on it, we must look to our world's top scientists findings and consensus on the matter. In this case, The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.

Environmental/Climate Change highlights from the Build Back Better HR 5376 bill that passed the House and will now be sent to the Senate:

— Clean energy tax credits would receive $320 billion worth of funding. These credits over 10 years would help businesses and homeowners shift to renewable energy sources for electricity, vehicles and manufacturing.

— $105 billion would be spent to improve communities’ ability to withstand extreme weather events, which have been worsened by climate change. The funding would also create a Civilian Climate Corps that focuses on conserving public lands and bolstering community resilience to flooding, drought and other weather emergencies.

— $110 billion would help develop new domestic supply chains and develop new solar and battery technologies. Support would also be given to existing steel, cement and aluminum industries.

— $9 billion would be allocated for lead remediation projects, such as the replacement of water lines or the replacement of school drinking water fountains that may contain lead.

The Amazon Rainforest, the largest of two lungs of our world (the other being the Congo Rainforest) took a massive hit over the past year. This should be an alarming situation for the UN.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — The area deforested in Brazil's Amazon reached a 15-year high after a 22% jump from the prior year, according to official data published Thursday. The National Institute for Space Research’s Prodes monitoring system showed the Brazilian Amazon lost 13,235 square kilometers ...
