Did it again!

Estuary Extravaganza 2026
Columbia 5.5 meter, Maverick 14
First Place

Two race day for the EYC Estuary Extravaganza. Helming doublehanded on Maverick 14 columbia 5.5 sailboats

First race we were pinned and fouled on the starting line followed by a bad first beat dropping a quarter mile behind the leader into last. Once we launched the spinnaker we started gaining momentum, picking one boat off at a time, until finally passing the leader for the comeback of the century and win in the last 100 yards. In the second race our adjustable jib tack broke, preventing full tension and point. Luckily we managed to keep it fast and nosed out for the win.

Now I have a mug with my birthdate and epic story to go with it.🥳

‘Twilight Precession’, Oakland, California

Columbia 5.5 Meter sailboats rounding the Jack London Square weather mark to start their run downwind with the back drop of the Port of Oakland.

Knife with Oil on 18x24” canvas panel. This was the second oil painting I started. Wanted to experiment with oil texture and viscosity. I had to shuffle this around the house for weeks because of how wet it was, which led to me installing a drying rack on the wall. Surprisingly it cured hard to the touch within a month.

My cat Polly, apparently awarded it the pink ping pong ball award. Either that, or she put her pink ping pong in first place.

Put these together a while back for a friend’s children. Instant hit, I hear the shark frame has begun to grow an underwater scene at the bottom and the young lady was so excited when she first saw the unicorn. They are best buds and super fun project to paint and build something they can share and build together.
