Building a greener future, one module at a time.
The Modular Building Institute has awarded Western Landing First Place in Green Building Multifamily in its 2026 Awards of Distinction competition.

Located in Harbor City, Western Landing was designed to provide safe, dignified supportive housing while advancing sustainability through innovative modular construction. Featuring 80 volumetric modules, native low-water landscaping, recycled-content insulation, low-VOC materials, and energy-efficient systems, the project exceeded performance benchmarks while reducing waste and accelerating construction.

This recognition highlights the power of collaboration between Bernards, Abode Communities, and our project partners to create resilient housing solutions that serve both residents and the environment.

A major milestone for a project that will help shape the future of the City of Ontario.

We recently celebrated the topping out of the new Ontario City Services Building, marking the placement of the final structural steel beam on this transformative 60,000-square-foot civic facility in the heart of Downtown Ontario.

Reaching this milestone in just a few short months is a testament to the exceptional collaboration, planning, and coordination between the City of Ontario, HMC Architects, Transtech, our trade partners, and the entire Bernards team. Through extensive preconstruction efforts, proactive coordination, and an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and ex*****on, the team has delivered remarkable progress while maintaining a safe and productive jobsite.

Designed to serve more than 345 city employees across seven departments, the new facility will provide a flexible, high-performance workplace that supports innovation, collaboration, and the City's continued growth for decades to come.

Thank you to every craft professional, partner, and stakeholder whose dedication, expertise, and safety-first mindset continue to move this project forward. We look forward to carrying this momentum through project completion and delivering a civic landmark that will serve the Ontario community for generations.

Progress is taking shape at Troy High School in Fullerton, CA as Bernards advances Phase 1 of the campus modernization project.

This week, our team finalized underground utilities, completed site and parking lot demolition, and removed outdated storage conex boxes to prepare for a new fire lane and the installation of interim housing units. These temporary learning spaces will allow students and faculty to transition seamlessly while future phases of modernization move deeper into campus.

This phase represents far more than site progress. It reflects the power of collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment between Bernards and Fullerton Joint Union High School District to deliver impactful public education projects through thoughtful planning and disciplined ex*****on. This achievement also contributes to our nearing milestone of $1 billion in completed Lease-Leaseback projects, a testament to the partnerships, transparency, and ex*****on that define our approach.
