I have great news to share with all the multi-family building owners at San Jose. This week, the City of San Jose launched the San Jose Electric Home Incentive Program. The incentive amount for this program is very substantial and can be stacked with other programs such as BAM BE and TECH. So, you may potentially be able to upgrade your building with modern electrical equipment at no cost or at a heavily subsidized amount!

On October 31, 2023, TECH Clean California launched the most substantive incentive program to date to encourage single family residence owners to convert from gas water heater to heat pump water heater. The maximum incentive available is $7,300. For property owners or renters who qualify for equity incentive (i.e., their income fall within a certain income threshold), their maximum incentive is set at $10,385. In addition to this incentive, which is already very substantial, you may be able to stack this incentive with other available incentives such as the Golden State rebate, BayREN, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, etc. In addition, you will be able to receive a 30% tax credit up to $2,000 on your out-of-pocket expense.
