INNOVATION ON HOLLENBECK, SUNNYVALE

The new owner’s inspiration and vision was to transform this 60’s era apartment building to make it worthy of a new name, ‘Innovation on Hollenbeck’. Not far from the new Apple campus, it needed to be edgy and innovative. This constituted a complete interior and exterior makeover, and all new site work including a new pool.

SOLAR ROW AT WI******ER, SAN JOSE

This project is a large office building, and our assignment was to dramatically change the appearance and ambience of the building to command market rents. The exterior of the building received a complete new facade and all interior common areas were redesigned and remodeled. Extensive use of rooftop solar panels and the installation of two freestanding solar trees on site are the origins of the name Solar Row.

A new entrance canopy feature leads visitors to an inviting remodeled lobby, where the old staircase has been made new and contemporary. Outdoor collaborative areas in the front and back, were specifically designed for informal meeting spaces.

BALBOA APARTMENTS, SUNNYVALE

The complex surrounds a courtyard, with decks on both floors and all units overlooking a pool area. As a selling point and a central focus for the residents, the pool area was redesigned with an elegant glass pool fence, glass gates, and contemporary landscaping.

The remodel transformed the entire courtyard to an inviting, well-appointed recreational space for the residents and a stunning first impression feature for new residents. The building facades were remodeled with horizontal lapped siding over the existing plywood siding, adding trim and details with aluminum reveals, all with a new and contemporary color scheme.

FRUITDALE GARDENS

This large apartment complex needed many repairs which led to a complete exterior facelift, with new siding design, custom designed deck railings, and a texture and color palette that changed large bland walls into new and interesting design features. It also included completely new landscaping and site fencing.

Last week we gave farewell to one of our employees, Ishani who worked with us for about 6 years. She has been a great team player, a good mentor and nice human being to work with. We have seen her growing since she came here in her 2nd year of her architecture school untill she got ready to have her first baby. We were already missing her and today she gave the good news. She gave birth to a cute little baby boy today and we want to congratulate and wish her all the best for new life!

We recently had a lunch celebration as a farewell to one of our EBA family and along with couple of birthdays we had in last month. We would like to welcome Charu on board with team EBA. She is our newest full time addition. Charu got her bachelors degree in architecture from India and worked there a couple years in an architecture firm before getting her masters degree from Southern Illinois University. She moved to San Jose soon after and has now joined EBA. She has been part of the team for a month and is doing a great job learning and adjusting to our standards and is a good team player. As a recent positive and exciting change to the office, we have expanded for a return of a very valuable staff member. Franceska worked for Edwin Bruce Associates for 13 years before she had two boys and became a stay at home mom for a few years. She rejoined to be part of the EBA team last month and we are more than happy to have her on board again. She is a licensed architect in the state of California.
