Barndominium Progress Update!

Our latest barndominium is reaching an exciting milestone as the framing and exterior sheathing are now complete!

At this stage, the vision is becoming reality. The Barndominium's unique design, soaring rooflines, spacious barn, and open-concept living areas are all beginning to take shape. What was once a foundation and a set of plans is now a structure you can walk through and truly experience.

The Schaefer Custom Homes team has made tremendous progress, and we're preparing for the next major phase: roofing, windows, and weatherproofing. Each step brings us closer to delivering a one-of-a-kind home built around our clients' lifestyle and dreams.

We love seeing these projects come to life and are excited to share the journey with you!

Big progress happening on our latest Barndominium build!

Today we’re setting trusses and bringing this project to life one step closer to a fully framed structure. It’s always exciting to see the shape and scale of a home really start to come together at this stage.

From the open-span design to the future living space above, every truss placed represents careful planning, craftsmanship, and teamwork between our crew, engineers, and suppliers.

This Barndominium is going to combine functionality, durability, and custom living all under one roof, and we can’t wait to show more as the build continues. Stay tuned for the next phase!

Framing is officially underway on this custom barndominium build!

After completing the foundation, we’ve moved into the next major phase, bringing the structure to life. You can now see the layout take shape, from the future horse stalls below to the living space above. The framing stage is where vision meets reality, and every wall, opening, and roofline starts telling the story of what this space will become.

We’re also beginning siding installation, adding another layer of progress and protection to the build. It’s always exciting to reach this point, when a project truly starts to stand up.

While it’s often celebrated with food and festivities, Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the Battle of Puebla in 1862, when Mexican forces achieved an unexpected victory. Today, it’s widely recognized as a celebration of Mexican culture, heritage, and resilience.

At Schaefer Custom Homes, we appreciate the traditions and stories that shape the way people gather and live in their homes. The spaces we build are meant to bring people together, whether it’s for everyday moments or meaningful celebrations like today.

Big things start from the ground up!

We’re officially at the foundation phase of our latest barndominium project, and this is where it all begins to take shape. Excavation is complete, forms are set, and we’re getting ready to pour the slab that will support everything to come, from the horse stalls below to the living space above.

This stage might not look flashy, but it’s one of the most critical parts of the build. A solid foundation means strength, longevity, and a structure that’s built to last.

It takes a full team to get here, from planning and design to site work and coordination, and we’re proud to keep things moving forward.
