We just returned from PCBC 2026 in San Diego, where we spent time connecting with fellow builders, meeting with manufacturers, and exploring the latest innovations in custom home construction.

Every conference reminds us that while products and technology continue to evolve, our commitment remains the same: delivering quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and an exceptional building experience for every client.

Barndominium Project Update!

Exciting progress is happening on our custom barndominium! We've reached the rough-in stage, where the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are being installed. While most of this work will eventually be hidden behind drywall, it's the backbone of a safe, comfortable, and efficient home.

This custom build is designed for both work and relaxation, featuring horse stalls on the lower level and a thoughtfully planned living space above. Every wire, pipe, and duct is carefully placed to meet the homeowners' unique needs.

With rough-in inspections coming next, we're one step closer to insulation, drywall, and seeing the interior really come to life!

Happy Independence Day!

Today marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, a moment that helped shape the freedoms we enjoy today.

It’s also a time to gather with friends and family, celebrate community, and appreciate the places we call home. At Schaefer Custom Homes, we’re proud to build spaces where those traditions and memories can grow for generations.

Barndominium Progress Update!

Our latest barndominium is reaching an exciting milestone as the framing and exterior sheathing are now complete!

At this stage, the vision is becoming reality. The Barndominium's unique design, soaring rooflines, spacious barn, and open-concept living areas are all beginning to take shape. What was once a foundation and a set of plans is now a structure you can walk through and truly experience.

The Schaefer Custom Homes team has made tremendous progress, and we're preparing for the next major phase: roofing, windows, and weatherproofing. Each step brings us closer to delivering a one-of-a-kind home built around our clients' lifestyle and dreams.

We love seeing these projects come to life and are excited to share the journey with you!

Big progress happening on our latest Barndominium build!

Today we’re setting trusses and bringing this project to life one step closer to a fully framed structure. It’s always exciting to see the shape and scale of a home really start to come together at this stage.

From the open-span design to the future living space above, every truss placed represents careful planning, craftsmanship, and teamwork between our crew, engineers, and suppliers.

This Barndominium is going to combine functionality, durability, and custom living all under one roof, and we can’t wait to show more as the build continues. Stay tuned for the next phase!
