We will be Pouring some Mark of the Yeast:78666 at Bower Bird Antiques & Curiosities this friday evening, along with all the rest of your local brewers about town. Each stop has a food pairing, seems like its gonna be a pretty good time.

In addition to 5 sour beers from Darkside Fermentation.
All this will be available at the beer tent at this year's fair for free tastings. Come enjoy the music and food, then wash it down with some central Texas Flavor.

Who has a healthy sage bush going? I need a few pounds to make a couple barrels of Mark of the Yeast, that is the only ingredient i lack. Next weekend would be a good time for a harvest.

Are ya'll sick of waiting yet? We won't be for sale in 2014 either, but we will be having a few fundraising festivals dripping with that potent potable we've grown so fond of.

Our objective to "complete" the 20-acre Sustainable farm, where the new brewery will be located, is coming together nicely. We feel it is important to make sure the space is defined by the greater possibilities of community and education, and not strictly a brewery. We are blessed to have some of our area's brightest designers helping to establish this farm, though that word does little justice for the concept we are putting forth. That said, the lion's share of the work has been done, freeing up time and providing resources for the construction of Darkside's new home.

We are still moving forward with the "off the grid" design for the brewery, and yes, this also will add some time until we drink again. Good things take time, doing things responsibly takes much more. If you would like to be a part of the process in anyway send me a message. We could always use a few more brains, and plenty of more brawns.

Last Week I lost one of my dearest friends, Stephanie Bledsoe, to a tragic accident on the farm we are currently building, the new home of Darkside Fermentation. She was my partner not only on the farm, but with the brewery as well. Its hard to imagine doing this without her around, she was the force that made everything come together. Those of you who met Stephanie can testify to her charisma and compassion.
Such beautiful souls do not come out of nowhere, she was raised by an amazing family that truly understood her unique approach to life. We all wish to move forward with the plans Stephanie and I made, working together to keep her dream intact. As the dust settles I will keep you updated on the details as we work this situation out. Stephanie brought so many people together, as much in life as in death, and we thank our community for the tremendous outpour of support and love.

Frustrating day on the Job site, two workers walked of the job on me, Pride comes before the Lack of Pay i guess. I need a few extra sets of hands tomorrow and friday for bending rebar and pouring concrete. Any Takers?
