The first of the IPE projects. Frame was built with 1”x2” galvanized . Wrapped using 1x6 IPE planks. There was a couple little changes Galway thru. But a great project overall. This was the start of my Love Hate relation with IPE. Finish product is amazing. But the process , specially on the miters is time consuming. IPE is very rough on the blades, overheats and flexes them, so a slow steady hand is required on miters to allow for a clean, flush joint.

I don’t do much outdoor work. But this multi part project marked the start of a love-hate relation with IPE. IPE is a beautiful, durable Hardwood but like all beautiful things, it will hurt you 😂. It will destroy blades and bits and is very unhealthy to breath in the dust. The frame was built with galvanized 1”x 2” frame. Wrapped on both sides with 1”x6” IPE planks. And weighed in around 200lbs.
