Hwy 101 in Ukiah is in full swing. Last night crews completed 62 yards of panel replacements. So far today they have set 900 linear feet of string line for the cable barrier pour and poured five ramps. Great progress from Gill and the team as work continues to move forward on the corridor.

Our crews recently put two custom solutions to work in the field during shoulder repair operations in Rancho Cordova.

The first was a 2-foot conversion for our 4-foot grinder, allowing crews to efficiently grind narrow shoulder sections and tight repair areas. The second was a custom skid steer mount fabricated by our shop team to help place new asphalt back into the ground area following the grinding operation.

Huge credit to both the shop and field crews for the innovation, fabrication, adjustments, and teamwork that went into making these setups work flawlessly in the field. This is the kind of problem solving that keeps production moving and helps our crews tackle work more efficiently every day. 👏

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

A few weeks ago during Administrative Professionals Day, the Ghilotti Bros., Inc. team visited the Lone Sailor Memorial at Vista Point overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

The memorial holds special meaning to our company. In 2002, Mario Ghilotti and Henry Trione helped lead a fundraising campaign that raised $2–3 million entirely through private donations to build the memorial without government funding. The memorial honors members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine who passed through the Golden Gate on their way to service overseas.

GBI proudly donated the transportation, site work, foundation, and placement of the statue as part of that effort.

During the visit, our team also toured our current project at Vista Point, where we are helping improve the pedestrian pathway connection beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.

It was a meaningful day reflecting on both the history of the memorial and the importance of the work being done there today.

We will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Just another example of the team responding quickly, working safely, and getting the job done efficiently.

Happy National Safety Week!

We wrapped up Safety Week with one of our biannual Safety BBQs, a great way to bring the team together before the busy season ramps up.

No lost time incidents.
A strong start to the season.
And a team that continues to put safety first every day.

Appreciate everyone who shows up, stays sharp, and looks out for one another in the field. Let’s keep it going.

Marin Ave Pavement Rehabilitation — Wrapping Up

We’re wrapping up work on the Marin Ave pavement rehabilitation project, with final striping and punch list items remaining.

From demo through paving, the crew kept things moving and pushed this one to the finish line.

Big thanks to the City of Albany California for putting together this great video and helping highlight the work.

We appreciate the community’s patience throughout construction, this is a big upgrade that’ll hold up for years to come.
