This is PSA for my fellow kids that elderly parents or just your family members in general. I understand that our parents have earned the right to buy what ever they want. That being said, its our job to protect them from predatory sales people
Just went to friends parents house to help with some plumbing concerns. After getting the job done, I inquired about their water treatment/softener. They said they had purchased about a year ago. I asked to take a look at it, to see the set up and. Brand name. I asked how much they paid for it and they were hesitant to tell how much they did. Then after a few minutes of explaining what they purchased they said $7,000.00 dollars. I about fell to the ground. It broke my heart to think they were taken for about 3-5 thousand dollars. I could’ve had them purchase that system and I install it for them.
Just talk to your family members about improving their household and reach out to your friends in the business. Not just plumbing but all trades. Hate seeing people getting taken advantage of.
