Drive by progress shots of this Bottle Bay Residence. Construction by Travis Harmon Construction.
More to come of this eventually, but the design was partially inspired by lakefront cabins of old that show their history on their sleeve, patina and all.

We met a major milestone this week with the BOCC’s approval of a zone change that we represented for the Priest River Animal Rescue and Critters. The land is currently owned by the Ranch Club Golf Course.
We are grateful to be working with this dedicated group to eventually build a new animal rescue facility.

Bonner County commissioners unanimously approved a zone change request that will bring a Priest River animal shelter one step closer to its relocation efforts.

The first step in this zone change that we presented was unanimously in-favor. It will now go before the County Commission for their approval.
We’ve been working with the Priest River Animal Rescue on a feasibility study to move locations and expand their services.

A zone change request for a 35-acre property off U.S. 2 from Suburban to Commercial was unanimously approved by the Bonner County Zoning Commission during a Dec. 18 meeting.

We’ve had the pleasure to work with the Bonner County Historical Society and Museum to provide a feasibility study and programming assessment to expand our community’s museum. Through this extensive process, we worked with the BCHSM determine the current and future needs and issues that should be considered, evaluating multiple properties to consider for expansion and their current location in Lakeview Park.
The museum provides a key civic service for the City and County and needs to expand to accommodate both collections and to better support the public. They’re currently planning to reinvest in their current location, you can learn more about the museums efforts and programming, the link is in our bio. They are actively seeking public input now via online surveys. Your input will directly impact the museum’s planning process.

This Schweitzer Mountain residence is under construction now. Located on a narrow lot within the Spires, much of the initial design efforts have gone into creatively laying out the footprint, to maximize the lot and create livable spaces on the upper floors where the views are stunning.
The contract has worked hard to pour foundations and line up the project to start framing in the early spring.

Here are some of the graphics we submitted for the award. We’ve tried a few times to tell the story of this project and it took multiple iterations, eventually realizing the tale of this building was less about the initial ask of designing some ADA ramps and all about how this masonry building revealed its original grandeur during demolition phase, exposing the lofty ceilings, skylights and brick walls, and removing 60 years of paneling and dropped ceilings.

Big thanks to for his creativity developing these graphics to help tell that story through drawing.

We were recognized for two awards at the AIA Idaho Design Awards this year for the North Second project in downtown Sandpoint. With the constant support of the clients, the design and construction team we pulled off design details, renovations to a historic masonry building and reinvigorating decades of renovations in a way that couldn’t have been possible without the skills of each person on the team.
Thank you to the clients, architectural team, and construction group!

We won the Award of Merit in Architecture and Award of Best Architectural Element specifically for the storefront and street facing elevation. It’s an honor to be recognized by an esteemed group of architects.

You can find the other award winners via the link in the bio-

Schweitzer Residence in the Spires is underway. This will be a phased construction with the foundation wrapping up this fall, letting it sit over the winter and then starting the framing in the early spring.
The contractor, Skyline Construction went above and beyond on the erosion control for this foundation, creating a safe working environment on a very steep slope.

Waterfront ADU post 2 - we’ve worked on many of these smaller living units over the years and learned that the room layout, natural lighting, loftiness and outdoor spaces provides for an open and comfortable space within an efficient footprint.

We completed this waterfront residence a few years ago. The goals of the design were to create a space for the client that would interact with the expansive lake surface and make it feel as if it’s on your doorstep. Each room opens up to the water with views of Sandpoint beyond.
