Some garages disappear into the landscape. This one becomes part of it.

Trever and Scott are securing gabion baskets to the structure, then hand-filling them with native stone to create a façade that feels less built and more like it’s emerging from the hillside.

It’s unconventional. Labor intensive. And exactly the kind of detail that makes a home impossible to forget.

Quite possibly the most unique garage North Idaho has ever seen.

Built from the mountain itself.

This garage façade is taking shape with gabion baskets filled with native rock, designed to make the structure feel as though it’s pushing straight out of the hillside.

Not applied decoration. Not an afterthought. The architecture, structure and landscape were conceived to work together from the beginning.

It’s the kind of detail that takes more coordination to build, but creates something far more interesting when it’s done.

A home that doesn’t simply occupy its site.

It belongs to it.

Some surfaces are meant to disappear into the architecture.

This bathroom is taking shape in microcement, a finish with roots in Spain that is hand-applied in thin layers to create a seamless, subtly textured surface. No grout lines. No visual clutter. Just depth, movement, and a quiet materiality that gets better the closer you look.

Paired with architectural niches and integrated lighting, the result will be warm, sculptural, and beautifully restrained.

Screaming Marmot is our newest high-end spec home coming to Schweitzer Mountain, located in the Crystal View neighborhood right next to the new ski bridge.

Designed by Eerkes Architects , built by Smithwright, and brought to life in partnership with Schweitzer Mountain Properties .

For now, we’re soaking in the view.
