This moody kitchen stays light and airy with a symmetrical layout and light walls to balance out the dark cabinetry. The backsplash is an old copper roof the clients found. Shelves were made by us and are salvaged from the clients barn - we carefully drilled holes in for little puck lights with hidden wiring. Closet in the kitchen entry hides storage over the basement stairs.

Upstairs en-suite+ bathroom in one of our recent historic renovation projects. It was quite the challenge to fit this one in with all the plumbing and headroom requirements, but we made it happen!

Sneak peak from a cozy whole house renovation for these second time clients. We love the sight lines created throughout the entire home, especially this one between the newer kitchen addition and the antique cape.

Details matter. Here are a few shots from a post and beam guest cottage we put up last year on Squam Lake. We love custom homes and the details that make each of them so unique.

Church St. project progress. When renovating in a historic district, it often looks as though buildings get taken apart only to be put back together without any changes to keep the historical integrity of the neighborhood and buildings themselves. On the inside, we’ve updated and installed insulation, electricity, plumbing, and reinforced the integrity of the structure.

What a historic gem! Built in the early 1800’s by one of the Vittum’s, expanded in the 1850’s and 1950’s, and now newly refreshed with a keen eye towards keeping the historic integrity intact. The owners have opted for retaining the horse hair plaster walls and odd angles of floors where possible 😍. Check out the original trim and shutter details!

Working in tight spaces on our Middle Road project! We needed to run an electrical conduit from the new solar array and backup generator to the house, and added perimeter drainage to keep moisture away from the foundation. . . . @ North Sandwich, New Hampshire

Summer hasn’t slowed us down (even if we’ve been slow to post!). We’ve been hard at work on this Sandwich renovation. The newly rebuilt carriage barn will house all the main living functions and is on a separate system from the attached antique cape so that the owners can live in a smaller heated footprint in the colder months. . . .

Oops! Looks like the last picture in our last post never loaded, so here’s one more detail shot to round it out. Here you can see just some of the wood we had to replace on the drop-down windows at Rockywold-Deephaven’s Haskell Cabin.
