Finally, the 3rd project for J&C Excavating. This project is Webster Ridge Apartments in Gladstone, Oregon. The contract is over $500,000. Involves rerouting a public waterline as well as the need to excavate and remove about 2,400 CY of basalt rock, boulders and cobbles. Not to mention an incredible 9,250 feet of underground utilities. James, thanks for letting SRCS assist on this project as well, it was challenging.

J&C Excavating, 2nd award for the month of September was Sunnyside Memory Care for HT Investment Properties. This project is located in Sunnyside, Oregon. This project is a very nice size for J&C at roughly $600,000 and involves 11,700 cubic yards of cut and fill as well as 3,470 feet of underground utilities. Yay, work for the winter.

September was a very successful week for J&C Excavating. James Schaffer asked SRCS to help with the estimating and proposal portion of the projects and now we are assisting them with project start up work items. Well Done James!! A total of $1,280,000 site work contracts.
First job awarded was with LCG Pence and is called NW Portland International Hostel.

This is for all you construction/engineer types
Here's a construction technique that would be handy to know. Read the calculations below then click on the link at the bottom of the article to see this technique in action. It’s something to cheer up any engineer. It will put you in the picture and help you up-to-date with the latest construction developments. Below is a link to a short video of a Pakistani pile driving construction technique. Notice that the pile driving becomes effective when the extra man jumps on. Very finely tuned! The chant is also catchy.
Now, let's analyze the Engineering here: 6 men x 180 lbs. = 1080 lbs. static force Jumping up and down will create a 3 times dynamic effect = 3240 lbs./jump = 1.6-ton thumps if the pile is tapered to 2 in. x 2 in., cross section at the tip = sq. in. So, dynamic press "Add a man" feature will increase to 950 psi, so buy the option! Increase the chant and dynamic force goes up to 5 times to bring maximum pressure/thump to 1600 psi for a 7-man team. Quite good, and it will pe*****te hard clay and sandy soil but not hard rock! We figure the foreman is the guy on the tambourine... you'll probably watch this twice because you won't want to believe your eyes the first time...

Well, its been a long time since I posted anything here. I'm way behind as business is booming and we are in a crazy growth curve. Our Corecon Software sales are about 200%+ from last year and still growing. Our Education Class Series part one will be released in about 2 weeks and we have had record sales on our Oregon CCB Continuing Classes. Most days sitting at my desk feels like being strapped on the front of a speeding Freight Train....

March 27, 2013 — A measure that would remove the insurance industry’s special exemption from the Unlawful Trade Practices Act cleared the House Consumer Protection and Government Efficiency Committee with a 6-3 vote on Tuesday and heads to the House floor.
