Hive to Home Our moto is "Saving Bees, One Swarm At A Time". We bring these bees back to our "Bee Farm", to rehabilitate them.

We also have raw honey and other bee related products.

🐝 20 FUN FACTS ABOUT HONEYBEES 🐝

1. A colony can have as many as 80,000 bees.
2. They are highly social insects.
3. Pheromones are used to communicate.
4. Their waggle dance gives directions to flowers.
5. They are very efficient, organized and tidy.
6. Worker bees (the females) do all the chores.
7. They can forage up to 3 miles from the hive.
8. A worker's life span is about 5-6 weeks.
9. The queen can live up to three years.
10. She can also lay up to 2,000 eggs per day.
11. Drones (the males) don't have a stinger.
12. After mating with a queen, the drones die.
13. They have five eyes (two of which are hairy).
14. They can see in the ultraviolet spectrum.
15. Workers have one stomach to digest nectar...
16. And a separate stomach to store nectar they'll turn into honey.
17. Pollen is packed into baskets on their legs.
18. They make "bee bread" with pollen & honey.
19. In the winter, they cluster around the queen.
20. A "swarm" is reproduction at the colony level (usually in spring).
