A little late this month.
Was waiting for rain! (wink wink - on a lighter note)

With temperatures rising, the choice of what to plant tends to go down. However, there are still some vegetables and lots of flowers that you can start in June! Check out the charts…

Seems the Owl felt the pic I posted before, was not too flattering, and he decided to make an appearance and pose for a better pic.

Hope I did him justice 😉

Note: and before someone comments, it’s not as sharp as a professional pic…

Woodpeckers and an Owl.

We have been hearing the tap-tap-tap of woodpeckers at our community garden, and were fortunate to see a couple of them tapping away! Apologies- could capture only one 😉.

The owl was a bonus, and the pro camera captured him(her) pretty well despite the hand shakes amplified at almost 40x zoom

The second Saturday speaker event was well attended, with Lisa Rosen(master gardener) explaining how to set up beds for planting.

Interesting tidbit: some of us did not know u needed to keep the composting material wet for better results!

Overall a fun and informative session, attended by not only our members but other people who joined us thru our events posts.

Hope most of the plants survived and are coming back from the freezes, last month.

The warming temps in April month seem to be indicating bean time!

But Papaya, tubers like potatoes and ginger are also on the card for planting.

But overall April seems to be a flower planting month.

Check out what the charts from our extension indicate.
