Today, we celebrated the graduation of our 2026 High School Internship Program in partnership with the Century High School CTE Program and the Santa Ana Unified School District.

Over the past weeks, these students stepped beyond the classroom and into the real world of construction. They explored careers in project management, operations, marketing, estimating, field operations and the many roles that come together to create better places for our communities.

More importantly, they experienced what it means to be part of a team that values learning, collaboration and giving back. Throughout the program, our employees shared their knowledge, mentorship and passion for the industry, helping students discover new possibilities for their future.

To our interns, congratulations on this milestone. Your curiosity, dedication and enthusiasm made this experience meaningful for all of us. We hope this is just the beginning of your journey.

KYA is proud to play a role in bringing the Ontario Sports Empire complex to life.

These shade structures are built to stand up to the elements and the decades of community use ahead; because a great sports facility doesn't just perform on day one, it has to keep showing up.

We are in the business of creating spaces where athletes can push their limits and communities can gather around something that matters. This project is a meaningful part of that mission, and we are just getting started. We cannot wait to see this project completed this fall!

Gym floors are more than athletic surfaces. These are spaces where students and schools create lasting moments.

KYA helps districts refresh and extend the life of their gym floors through turnkey solutions ranging from screen and recoat services to full sanding, repainting, refinishing, repairs and replacements.

For Inderkum High School, our team supported a complete gym floor update that included redesigned graphics, refinishing, line and logo painting, and wear layer application, helping deliver a modern, safe and reliable space for students and the school community.

A new chapter begins at Orangewood Elementary in Bakersfield, CA. We were honored to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Cafeteria Building alongside district leadership, staff and project partners.

As a CUUBE™ facility, this building was created to support connection and community. From everyday lunches to school celebrations and special events, it will serve as a gathering place where students, staff and families come together for years to come. The project reflects a shared investment in creating environments that support student success for years to come.

KYA is proud to recognize an exciting milestone in our partnership with the Santa Ana School District and Century High School’s CTE (Career Technical Education) program.

Through this collaboration, KYA had the opportunity to welcome high school students to our Kampus for a four-week internship program focused on real-world learning, career exposure and hands-on insight into the construction industry.

During this first week, the students learned from KYA leadership, team members and industry professionals about the work behind a specialized general contractor and the many career pathways that support construction, facilities, project management, operations and technical trades

The internship was designed to provide students with a "360-degree" view of the industry through mentorship, department shadowing, hands-on activities, site exposure and a capstone project experience that encouraged collaboration, creativity and professional growth.

KYA was also honored to receive the Industry Partner Award 2026 from the Central Orange County CTE Partnership in recognition of our valued partnership and commitment to student success. This award reflects the shared dedication behind this initiative and the importance of connecting education with meaningful, hands-on industry experience.

This initiative was coordinated by Lisa Chavez and Allison Maturino in partnership with the Santa Ana School District and Century High School’s CTE department. Their collective commitment to student development continues to strengthen workforce readiness and connect education with meaningful, hands-on experience.

For the Nicolas High Fullerton CUUBE project, the new ARC (Arts and Recreation Center) represents more than a new building. It gives students a place to gather, create, perform, practice and experience campus life in a new way.
