Mid-century modern, all the way down to the Fiesta Ware.

Bold color, warm wood, a statement light fixture and a kitchen designed to show off the homeowners’ collection.

A two-car garage doesn’t have to be just for cars.
We carved out space for entertaining, video games and family movie nights—all while leaving room for the homeowners’ collection of mountain bikes.

Turns out a garage can do a lot more than park cars. :)

It’s a small detail.

This mosaic tile border repeats through the living spaces, kitchen and bathrooms, creating a subtle connection from room to room.

Hard to believe these rooms started with emerald green carpet and wood paneling on the walls AND the ceiling.

We stripped everything back and gave the space a complete refresh, turning it into a bright home office and comfortable living area while working with the home’s existing rooflines and angles.

Sometimes a remodel is less about changing the footprint and more about seeing what the existing space could become.

This Westside Santa Cruz project started as a smaller kitchen remodel. Once demolition began, we uncovered age-related damage inside the walls that needed to be addressed.
The homeowners decided it was the right time to take the project further—gutting the house and giving the entire home a fresh start.
We’re in the final stretch now and can’t wait to share the finished result.

A custom built-in gives everything a place without taking away from the room.

We built this cabinetry alongside the fireplace with closed storage for the things the homeowners want tucked away and open shelving for books, baskets, family photos and favorite pieces.

What would you put on your custom shelving?

Same kitchen, but so not the same kitchen.

Opening up the layout gave this kitchen room for a large island, more cabinetry, better work space and a much easier connection to the rest of the home.
Swipe to see where it started.

Santa Cruz summers are made for opening the doors, passing drinks through the kitchen window, and letting indoor and outdoor spaces become one.

There’s custom cabinetry—and then there’s cabinetry built specifically for the house it’s going into.

Yates Woodworking created every cabinet in this kitchen, including the paneled refrigerator surround and cabinetry framing the range. The warm wood carries through the space and feels right at home alongside the original wood ceiling and floors.

One of the most common kitchen remodeling regrets?
Not planning enough storage for the way you live.
Before choosing cabinets or finishes, think about what you use every day. Coffee stations, wine storage, baking supplies, serving platters, charging drawers, or hidden appliance garages can make your kitchen more functional without adding more square footage.
