There was an amazing turn-out with over 1,100 comments and 250 likes! We really enjoyed hosting this contest and we plan to have more Giveaways so make sure to follow!

INTRODUCING FLUSHABLE WIPES!! The biggest marketing scam!

For most flushable wipes, they are plant-based or biodegradable but their original form is not initially compatible to be "flushable" for all plumbing systems. Most times, the wipes do not break down fast enough causing major issues.

If the wipes manage to get through your sewer system and into the city sewers without getting matted inside the piping or catching against even the smallest imperfections, it is still affecting you and here's why!

After the wipes make it into the city, it passes through intricate plumbing systems new and old. Sometimes the city plumbing can be over 100 years old and still being used!

Like a river after a big storm, solids start to block the flow and slows it down. When enough solids collect in the pipe, the rest of it doesn't have anywhere to go except back into the exit pipes to houses and business or all over the ground. This is what spreads diseases and sickness!!!

Sewer lines mostly rely on gravity to drain all the liquids and solids to get treated at a sewage treatment facility. The pipe gets deeper and deeper which means pumps are installed to lift up those solids and liquids and it pushes it into a pipe higher and the process continues until the next pump station.

Here's why it matters to you: our taxpayers money goes towards fixings these issues! People want beautiful parks and big parades for the holidays but the city needs 3 new pumps installed that were clogged with "flushable" wipes.

ADVICE:
Drawing one line across a piece of paper is wasteful... the same applies if you wrap your hand like a mummy to wipe!

Throw away your wipes or toilet paper instead of flushing in a concealed diaper genie or trash can.

DO NOT USE LIQUID PLUMBER, DRAINO, OR other acid based products as it can weaken your pipes! Find out or hire a plumbing professional to determine what type of drainage piping you have so you use the best drain cleaning solutions and maintenance.

Install a bidet WITH A DRYER! If it doesn't have a dryer you're drying off with toilet paper anyways or you're sitting there on the toilet longer to dry which is bad for your colon health!

We would like to welcome our newest teammate, Charlie! Welcome to the team!

Hey everyone, I’m Charlie

I am a journeyman technician and have been plumbing for 25 years now. I got into plumbing because I was taught that the best kind of work is the kind where you’re helping people. Over the years, that’s exactly what it’s been about for me — showing up when someone needs it most and making sure things are done right.

I spent 18 great years with Hampshire Plumbing, and recently made the transition to Gold Medal Plumbing. That family atmosphere means a lot to me, and I’m proud to be part of a team that stands behind its work and its people.

When I’m not on the job, you’ll usually find me fishing, camping, or doing family cook-offs. Nothing beats being outdoors or spending time around the grill with the people who matter most.

A personal goal of mine is to start blacksmithing and forging knives and useful tools. I can even use some of the metal scraps from plumbing jobs to recreate something new! I’ve always enjoyed working with tools, and turning old materials into something meaningful that just feels right.

Thanks to everyone who’s trusted me over the years — I’m grateful for every opportunity to serve this community. If you see me out and about don’t hesitate to say hello!

We would like to give praise to Jeannette Cisneros for assisting the transition of the staff from Hampshire Plumbing to Gold Medal Plumbing!

Whether she’s coordinating with customers or managing moving pieces behind the scenes, she stays organized, dependable, and calm under pressure.

Miss Jeannette’s contract ends with us March 1st but we are going to try to keep her another week if she will let us!

We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors, and we would love to have her again!

~PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE FREEZE!~

Today, Fisher will be explaining the common ways to protect your plumbing system during the oncoming freeze.

Be sure to have your pipes insulated on the outside of your home as well! Use pool noodles temporarily if you have to!

Stay safe, stay warm, and most importantly stay dry!
