Talk about a heavy lift! đď¸
As part of the elevator modernization at UCSF Long Hospital, the project team recently completed a crane pick to remove and replace elevator machinery on the building's roof.
While crane picks are always impressive, this one came with a unique set of challenges: a tall hospital tower, ongoing construction of a new hospital wing, limited access, and a tight site nestled against the hillside in San Franciscoâs Parnassus Heights.
Thanks to the expertise and collaboration of Cameron Builders and the project team, the operation was completed successfully using a specialized box-and-tailgate system that enabled the machinery to be rolled directly into the elevator machine room.
It's not every day you get a front-row seat to a project milestone like this. Weâre proud to support improvements that help keep critical healthcare facilities running smoothly.
