School's out! That's our cue.
Summer gives school districts a narrow window to get construction done without impacting students and staff. A few months to demolish, build, inspect, and hand over a finished project before school starts again.

Getting there means having the District, Architect, Engineers, DSA, and every sub aligned at the same time. The coordination is the job.

We've done it before. We'll do it again this summer.

The best compliment we get on some projects is that nobody knew we were there. Hospitals still running. Casinos still open. Schools still in session. Production lines still moving. That doesn't happen by accident.

Working in occupied facilities means every decision gets made with the client's operations in mind first:

Scheduling work around patient care, shift changes, visiting hours, and production windows. Containing dust, noise, and disruption so employees and customers aren't impacted. Planning the sequence so shutdowns are short, coordinated, and communicated well in advance. Maintaining safety for everyone in the building, not just our crews.

The goal is simple. Keep the client's doors open, keep their revenue coming in, and deliver quality work that holds up long after we're gone.

Public Infrastructure is hard at work at La Plaza A, updating an existing County building to support expanded services for the community.

This project focuses on retrofitting the space—modernizing interiors, improving accessibility, and incorporating updated technology and security features to meet today’s needs. By adapting an existing facility, we’re able to deliver improvements efficiently while making the most of public resources.

These upgrades will help create a safer, more functional environment for both staff and the people they serve.

It’s another example of how we’re building on what we have to better support Sonoma County.

Rooftop HVAC units are heavy. The roof framing has to be ready for it. That means careful demo, structural lumber reinforcement sized for the load, and a watertight roofing system when it's done.

Skip any of those steps and you've got a problem on your hands and over your head.

Not all clean rooms are created equal.

ISO cleanrooms are classified by how many particles are allowed in the air per cubic meter. The lower the ISO number, the cleaner the room and the more complex the build.

Building to these standards isn't just construction. It's a coordinated engineering process.

Specialized HVAC with HEPA or ULPA filtration. Pressurization control. Seamless wall and ceiling systems with zero particle traps. Flooring, lighting, and finishes all specified to the class. Every pe*******on sealed. Every material vetted. One wrong detail and the whole room fails certification.

At Kirby we understand what it takes to build these environments right, coordinating every trade to meet the standard the first time.
