Our location in Virginia Beach, VA is looking for an entry level shop helper to assist and perform various duties.

Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test.

Responsibilities:
Perform work as directed by Supervisor
Disassemble equipment as necessary, cleaning parts and doing necessary repair work
Perform laboring duties as needed including the loading and unloading of supplies, materials, and equipment
Shop maintenance and organization
Participate in "on the job" training.

Our location in Santee, CA is looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a Manual lathe and mill to perform assigned tasks.

Must have manual machinist capabilities running Manual Mills and Manual Lathes. You will produce or repair precision parts using manual machines and accurate measurements. Must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. Possess an eye for detail. Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test.

Responsibilities:
Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications
Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
Take measurements and mark material for cutting
Select appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and position or load material for a job
Determine proper speeds and feeds of machine etc.
Perform routine daily machine maintenance and general housekeeping
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines or parts
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve processes and optimize production

Required Skills:
Must have 10+ years as experience as a machinist
Demonstrate ability to setup and operate mills, lathes, drill presses and additional machine shop equipment to produce parts using engineering drawings.
Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
Good at math and problem-solving skills
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items (no more than 50 pounds)
Be organized/maintain clean work area
Must have basic machining tools
Be able to fabricate parts/tools necessary for shop (including one off parts)
Follow instructions/ be attentive
Willingness to learn
Strong work ethic
Great attendance record
A Team player
