Welcome

RMB Construction General Contractor, Inc. started as a partnership in September of 1999; a husband and wife team; Rodrick and Marguerite Bobo. In June of 2007 we incorporated and became RMB Construction General Contractor, Inc. We have both completed the Contractor Law and Business classes. Rod is the license qualifier due to his many years in the field, which makes him the Boss. He works the men and I work the paper; we are a special team and the entire Board of Directors. We are an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau and have been associated with the BBB since 2005 until 2009 due to the downturn in business we have not renewed our membership. We are also members of the Western Regional Master Builders Association. We do carry 2 Million coverage of General Liability Insurance, Worker Compensation Insurance and our company vehicles are commercially insured.

Rod has been in construction as a carpenter since 1972; he has done rough and finish carpentry for both residential and commercial work. Rod’s experience has given him the necessary structural knowledge that is key, he does have that hands on experience as well as the supervision talents required that make a job go smooth all the way to the end. Rod has a special quality with his workforce that enables each person to feel rewarded for the craftsmanship brought to the project which produces real pride in workmanship. There are many homes and buildings not just in San Diego, but El Centro, Laguna, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, San Fernando and Ventura Counties even Reno, Nevada he can drive by and say, “I built that”. Rod is a man that takes great pride in his work; thus our logo “Quality that lasts”.

Since 1978 I have done administrative work in construction. I began with accounting, advancing to contract administration, plan reading, bid preparation and presentations, jobsite supervision and eventually assistant project management (it is after all a Mans world). My main experience has been with major developers such as Christiana Companies (we built the first million dollar track in Huntington Beach, I moved from L.A. to San Diego with that company to build Tierrasanta); worked with EastLake Development (developed The Greens; a phase of the master planned community centered around a Golf course, yes I definitely know underground work) and The Baldwin Company (building a variety of mid-priced tracks from San Marcos to Otay Lakes).

Rod and I put our skills together in 1999 and have been very successful. One factor in our success is our belief in teamwork. We do not do it alone our specialties which we provide personally are three main key factors for a structurally sound house which are the concrete, framing and plumbing. Our team of sub-contractors will provide the electrical, insulation, drywall, painting, tile, stucco and roofing. The subcontractors we use are personally and professionally well known to us. Each subcontractor does carry the required licensing, bonding and insurances (general liability and worker compensation). We are very determined to build it right without confusion causing changes during construction. We make sure everyone is on the same page from the beginning this is a key factor in the completion of projects in a timely manner; usually 4-6 months depending upon size and details. Teamwork makes this happen for you and for us.
