Saving on energy is a hot topic these days...chances are you have already converted your incandescent light bulbs to the new CFLs. That is a great way to save a little on energy bills even though they cost a little more at the register. We would actually like to suggest using LED lights. LED lights are more desirable because of their low energy usage, low heat emission, and low impact on the environment when discarded. They cost a little more at the cash register, but are worth it since they have an even longer life expectancy, 50,000 hours vs. 8,000 for CFLs. With no mercury inside of LEDs that means less of a hassle for you should one break. Not to mention, LEDs are actually recyclable in many cities. So much easier than CFLs to dispose of since CFLs are categorized as hazardous waste and should never be tossed in with regular trash. If you can't quite swing making the change all at once, start with hard to reach areas such as the foyer and high-volume areas such as the kitchen and bathrooms.
