Weather is getting nicer and it's prime time for gutter installations!
Here are some photos from a recent job. New construction is always a great install! The customer originally wanted Leaf Blaster Pro stainless steel micromesh gutter guard (amazing product!) but after seeing it all come together decided to switch to a black Hallett Louver Flow aluminum gutter guard, which will be swapped this week. Bottom elbows on all downspouts are also temporary until the tiling is complete which will allow downspouts to be fitted to the tiling via a tile adapter.
Gutter guards are extremely helpful if there are trees close enough for the wind to carry leaves and needles into your gutters, especially if the gutter system is ran into drainage tiling. The type of gutter guards that will work best for your gutters is determined by a few variables: tree species, roof pitch, and roof material.
A stainless steel micromesh product will be the most effective at keeping pine, spruce, hemlock, and other evergreen conifers from shedding their needles into your gutters. Stainless steel micromesh is also a good product for roofs that have high volume and fast water flow (medium to steep pitched metal roofs) as they let the water pass through the gutter guard fast and efficiently. Leaf Blaster Pro stainless steel micromesh is my top tier gutter guard product that I currently install. On the downside, this product tends to be the most expensive, and some people may not like the look of the shiny stainless steel. The most expensive option isn't always necessary though, depending on tree species and roof type.
A painted aluminum gutter guard option such as Hallett Louver Flow is a customer favorite. This product is available in multiple colors and is very effective at preventing the leaves from deciduous trees from entering into your rain water management system. I recommend this option when there are little to no evergreen conifer trees nearby and the roof pitch isn't extremely steep (can get away with a steeper pitch on a shingled roof).
If you are sick of having to clean your gutters, give me a call anytime and I will be happy to come out and assess what will help keep debris out of your gutters most efficiently!
