Thanks for the shoutout Stepwise Electric ⚡️ When I was stuck finding a solution for this install, I was thankful to stumble with them, great product and service!

Who knew multifamily EV installs could be this easy?
No panel upgrade. No entrance upgrade. No HOA roadblocks.

Just 2 Stepwise Taps managing 2 EV chargers across 2 units on a constrained 125A service.

Each EV charger was paired with its own Stepwise Tap, allowing the homeowners to install Level 2 charging without costly electrical upgrades or delays.

Shoutout to Cal from for the clean install 👏

⚡ Most of us don’t think about our electrical system… until something stops working.

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to help so many homeowners here in Brevard County — and one thing we’ve learned is that a little knowledge goes a long way.

With over 20 years of experience, Cal has seen just about everything when it comes to residential electrical systems. We wanted to create a space where we can share that knowledge more in depth and help homeowners feel more confident about their homes.

That’s why we created our Electrical Resources blog — a place to break things down in a simple, practical way and give back to the community that has supported us for over 10 years.

If you’ve ever had questions about your home’s electrical system, this is a great place to start.

Thinking about converting your overhead electrical service to underground?

Here’s the reality — it’s not just one step.

There are a few key things to understand before getting started:

• Whether you actually need it or if it’s optional
• Costs from FPL, permits, materials, and labor
• Site conditions like pole access and trenching
• A timeline that can take around 2 months in a smooth scenario

This type of project involves coordination between homeowners, contractors, and FPL — and planning ahead makes a big difference.

Still got questions?

If you’re considering converting your overhead service to underground and want help understanding your options, we’re happy to guide you through the process.

We break it all down step-by-step on our Electrical Resources blog to help you know what to expect before getting started.

If your home has this panel, it may not protect you when it should. ⚡

Before ➡️ After

This project included replacing an FPE (Federal Pacific Electric) panel, which has been recalled and is known for not tripping properly — creating potential safety risks.

We also upgraded the meter to meet current code requirements, including installing a main disconnect outside, allowing power to be safely shut off in case of an emergency.

So proud of Cal and the work he put into this one — making homes safer is always the goal.

If you’re not sure what kind of panel you have, we’re happy to take a look and answer any questions ⚡

That kettle alone can use 1,200–1,500 watts. Now imagine it running at the same time as your microwave, toaster, coffee maker, or space heater — especially if they’re on the same line.

Breakers don’t trip randomly. They trip because something is demanding more power than that line can safely handle.

If this happens frequently in your home, it could mean:

• Too many appliances share one line
• Your electrical panel is maxed out
• Worn-out outlets
• Loose wiring connections

These are signs your system may need attention — not just another reset.

Ways to improve this:

✅ Add dedicated circuits for high-demand appliances
✅ Upgrade kitchen or laundry circuits
✅ Evaluate your home’s electrical load
✅ Consider a panel upgrade if capacity is limited
✅ Replace old or worn outlets

If breakers are tripping regularly, it’s worth checking before it becomes a bigger issue.

We’re happy to help you understand your home’s electrical load ⚡
