You've heard the news by now...🗞️📰

A recently released study reports that Mary Jane is used on a daily basis more commonly than both alcohol and ci******es. Both of these poisons have been legal, yet regulated, for decades. Meanwhile, a natural means of harm reduction has been illicit.

Legalization still treats alcohol and to***co better than the herb. It assumes C@nn@bis consumers are a fringe community that needs additional oversight. Mistruths in the service of big business.

New York legalized cannabis, which is great. But the MRTA still caps personal home cultivation at just 3 mature plants per person. For people who grow for medicine, learning, or simple self-sufficiency, that's genuinely restrictive.

I started a petition asking New York's Office of Cannabis Management to repeal these limits.

Here's why it matters:

Medicinal patients often need specific strains and consistency that commercial supply can't guarantee. Home growers are trying to learn the craft and build sustainable practices—but you can't really experiment or develop skills with only 3 plants. And for anyone paying commercial prices regularly, home cultivation should be an option for reducing costs.

These limits also kill the community knowledge-sharing that comes naturally when people grow. Small limits discourage the very education and peer learning that make people smarter consumers and growers.

If you think adults should have more freedom to cultivate at home, or if you've felt the frustration of these constraints yourself, consider signing and sharing. Would love to hear your thoughts—does this feel like a reasonable limit to you, or have you dealt with this directly?
