Purpose: General Supervisor is responsible for leading, directing, and controlling work of project crew to ensure quality work is completed to customer satisfaction
Essential Duties include the following:
Must comply with all company safety policies at all times
Layout roughs
Run crews
Pull and order the required material
Completes required crew evaluations and provides timely and appropriate feedback
Communicate with General Contractor, Supervisor, and other trades on a frequent basis regarding the progress and coordination of the project to ensure the most efficient installation of electrical equipment possible
Keep Project/Office Manager informed of all changes or impacts to project
Communicate with Journeyman/Journeywoman and Apprentices so they are aware of material onsite or back ordered
Provide the office with all required documentation in a timely manner
Study and evaluate blueprints and spec book as well as tracking changes and as-builts
Provide instruction to Journeyman/Journeywoman and Apprentices regarding assignments and obtain feedback on progress
Order material to be delivered to the job site to ensure installations are completed on time
Bend and run conduit and raceways to house electrical wiring for systems throughout the building when necessary
Detail project completed prior to starting job
Perform layout and installation of switchgear
Identify and use all Prefab opportunities
Be involved in all job-related contractor meetings
Oversee supervisor and provide guidance and leadership
Review and account for tasking and reporting
Assist and develop scheduling
Ensure that all safety training is completed and properly documented
Facilitate and attend in-house training
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Maintain knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices
Extensive experience with wiring systems and all phases of project installation; electrical control work and troubleshooting and purchasing of electrical material and parts
Ability to properly identify area classifications
Experience in commercial and industrial environments
Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written
Able to assertively address problems with appropriate parties as they arise in a professional manner
Physical Requirements:
Able to carry up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead and overhead to ground; able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead; possess good vision (normal or corrected); Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead; Able to withstand repetitive use of arms, fingers, and hands; Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics; Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe work areas
Must be able to get to various customer sites as required.
Work Environment:
Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
