For this Guyton master bathroom project, our team removed the existing shower enclosure and rebuilt the space with:

✔️ New framing, backer board and mortar shower pan
✔️ RedGard waterproofing membrane
✔️ Wood-look tile across the shower walls
✔️ Coordinating hexagon mosaic tile on the floor and inside the niche
✔️ A handheld showerhead for added convenience
✔️ A custom two-panel frameless glass door

Soft spots, peeling paint and loose boards are signs worth checking.

Porch damage doesn’t always begin with an obviously broken board. Moisture can work beneath the paint and gradually weaken the wood—especially around steps, columns, edges and other areas regularly exposed to rain.

Signs to watch for include:

✔️ Boards that feel soft or move when stepped on
✔️ Peeling, bubbling or repeatedly failing paint
✔️ Cracks, splintering or dark discoloration
✔️ Loose fasteners or widening gaps
✔️ Areas that stay damp longer than the rest of the porch

When damage is localized and the surrounding structure remains sound, targeted board replacement may be enough. Catching it early can help prevent a smaller carpentry repair from becoming a much larger porch project.

Not every cracked slab needs the same solution.

A small, stable surface crack may call for a different approach than concrete that has shifted, sunk or broken into multiple sections. Before recommending a repair or replacement, we look at:

✔️ The size and direction of the cracks
✔️ Whether the slab is still level
✔️ Signs of continued movement
✔️ The condition of the surrounding concrete
✔️ Drainage and the ground beneath the slab
✔️ Whether the damaged area creates a trip hazard

Sometimes a targeted repair makes sense. Other times, removing and replacing the affected section provides the safer, longer-lasting result.
