A view from the operator’s seat at the Perth Bottling project!

The first photo shows Jamie’s view from the motor grader as he fine-graded the area, getting it ready for pavement. The second shows that same area as our paving crew puts down the asphalt.

A quality paving job starts well before the first load of asphalt arrives. The care and precision that go into grading help set the paving crew up for success.

Teamwork at its finest! 😂

Here’s Bobby showing Glen the ropes as Glen learns to operate the screed on our asphalt paver.

At HMA, we believe in hands-on training… but we didn’t realize that meant holding hands! 🤝🤣

And here’s the best part — Bobby is the younger of the two! Just goes to show that learning and sharing knowledge have nothing to do with age.

All kidding aside, it’s great to see our team members helping each other grow and develop new skills.

One Project. Many Skills. One HMA Team! 💪🚧

One of the things we’re most proud of at HMA Contracting is the diversity of skills our crews bring to every project.

At our Kenwood Subdivision project, our team has handled everything from major site cuts and fills to installing water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.

Now, we’re moving into the finishing stages—preparing sidewalks along Kenwood, pouring concrete, and installing wood fencing.

From heavy excavation and underground utilities to the detailed finish work, our crews have the experience and versatility to get the job done.

It’s this range of skills, along with the pride our team takes in their work, that makes HMA Contracting who we are.

A well-organized job site says a lot about the crew working on it! 👷‍♂️

Every morning, I review our foremen’s daily reports, and this photo from our Watt Street project in Schenectady caught my attention.

With the earthwork, underground infrastructure, and foundation excavation and preparation completed, our foundation subcontractor is now working on the foundations and concrete slab.

What really stands out is how clean and organized this job site looks.

A big shoutout to our foreman, Cash, and his crew for the pride and professionalism they’re bringing to this project.

Great work, team! This is what HMA RESPECT looks like in action!

These two, Jeff and Bill, probably spend half their day busting each other’s chops!

But that’s one of the things we love about our HMA team. They work hard, give each other a hard time, and at the end of the day, genuinely care about one another.

A little friendly trash talk, a lot of teamwork, and maybe even a little love! 😂💪

It’s not always going to be easy. And that’s okay.

Some days everything falls into place. Other days, nothing seems to go as planned.

That’s life. That’s business. And that’s certainly construction!

What matters most isn’t how many challenges we face, but how we choose to respond to them.

Show up with a positive attitude. Treat people with respect. Take pride in what you do. Keep moving forward, even when the road gets rough.

Because success isn’t about having a perfect day.

It’s about giving your best effort, even on the difficult ones.

Progress is taking shape at Delaware Plaza in Delmar!

Last week we shared a look at where this project was starting. A week later, our HMA team is well into the reconstruction of the parking lot.

Drainage, catch basins, site excavation and new subbase are all part of the work happening before the new pavement goes down.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, and we’ll keep sharing the progress as this project comes together.
