We are looking for a Grinder Operator in the Houston, Texas Area.
The Grinder Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machinery to process materials according to production specifications. This role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting grinding equipment, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety and maintenance procedures. The Grinder Operator plays a key role in the production process, ensuring that materials are ground efficiently and meet quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· The operator safely controls the machine using buttons, pedals and levers to skillfully grind waste wood into usable wood chip products.
· Operator often works independently, following detailed work plans and specifications.
· Follow safe practices and rules while clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines.
· Operator is responsible for machine basic service, refueling, diagnostics and minor repairs.
· Requires safety gear (PPE), climbing off & onto the chipper, and some walking on uneven terrain.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Physical Requirements and Environment
· Prolonged standing, walking, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
· Climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· Ability to see close, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
