PJT Electrical Contracting LLC. was fortunate to be apart of another cool project.
This location was unable to get more power ran from the supply company. Still needing power to continue operations we decided to re-route existing power.
We installed a fused 400A, 240V transfer switch to transfer power from or to existing circuits to the newly required location. We then stepped voltage up to 480V, ran power through a phase converter to give us three phase 480V. The 3P 480V, fed a panel to then run power to a transfer switch (which we installed a 480V, 100A generator receptacle for backup power if power goes out) and then fed power to the equipment requiring 480V 3P, power. From the 480V panel, we also fed power to a step down transformer to power 120/240V 1P, to an automatic transfer switch to re-feed power to one of the panels we took power from with the original transfer switch to give us lighting and other equipment needs.
