Some colors don’t just belong on a house. They belong to a moment.

This green is the place where the shadow of a cloud moves slowly across an open field—soft and peaceful. Then yellow is where sunlight breaks through, catching the tops of the taller grass and turning them the faintest shade of gold.

The brown stain brings it all back down to the earth—the color of good soil, old fence posts, worn porch steps, and the kind of living that never needed to be more then it was.

There’s something about this home that feels like running barefoot through a field. Like screen doors closing behind you, supper cooking in the kitchen, clothes moving on the line, and staying outside until the fireflies told you it was time to come home.

That’s what we love about choosing colors for a home.

We aren’t always looking for the color that stands out the most.

Sometimes we’re looking for the one that makes you feel something.

The one that looks like it grew right out of the land beneath it.

The one that makes a new coat of paint somehow feel like coming home.

Because a beautiful home shouldn’t only be something you see.

It should remind you of somewhere your heart has been before.

There is a real cost behind every piece of content a small business puts out.

It costs time to take the pictures, create the graphics, write the posts, build the brand, pay for advertising, and consistently keep your business visible. That is why something as simple as a share can mean more than people realize.

Sometimes giving looks like sharing another member’s work, recommending their business, commenting on their content, or helping their name reach people they may never reach on their own.

And when you consistently make an effort to share and support other businesses but that support is rarely returned, it can become discouraging

A share costs nothing, but to a small business, it can be worth something.

It can put a company in front of a future customer.
It can create a referral.
It can help justify the time and money invested into marketing.

Networking works best when we genuinely want to see one another succeed. If we expect people to advocate for our businesses, we should be willing to advocate for theirs too.

And to those who do consistently like, comment, share, recommend, tag, and support the businesses around you—thank you. Please know those small actions do not go unnoticed. You are helping another business owner reach people they may never have reached without you, and that kind of support is exactly what a strong networking community is supposed to look like.

Support should be reciprocal. Community requires participation.
